VGH Annual Bags & Baskets today through 5:00 p.m. on June 23
Virginia Gay Hospital continues its effort of supporting literacy in the community and will hold the Annual Bags & Baskets Silent Auction. The auction will raise funds for Reach Out & Read at the Vinton Family Medical Clinic. Books build better brains! Each child receives a book at each well-child check from their VGH Clinic Provider. Because of the Reach Out & Read program, parents are more than twice as likely to read to their children.
Urbana Alumni Banquet June 17
The Urbana Alumni Banquet will be held on June 17 from 5-9:00 pm at the Don Bosco Hall in Urbana. Social hour will begin at 5:00 pm with a Buffet at 6:00 pm and a meeting following.The cost is $25.00 per person. Catering will be provided by Halane Cummings. “ASK AN EXPERT” RETURNS TO BENTON COUNTY FAIR
The Benton County Iowa State Extension Office and its 4-H Foundation are pleased to announce the return of “Ask an Expert” at the Benton County Fair. Experts will be available to speak with at the Iowa State Extension booth in the Expo Building on the fairgrounds. Benton County Master Gardeners will also be available at the booth at various times throughout the fair to answer questions.

Shellsburg's Big Day - July 15
The annual Shellsburg Celebration, Big Day is coming on Saturday, July 15. The parade will start at 10:30 at the school. Farmers Market to feature Virginia Gay Hospital and Healthy Living tonight

CP Historical Society to host Phil Borleske
The Center Point Historical Society will host a program on Sunday, June 25, at 2:00 p.m. by Phil Borleske of Vinton. The program is entitled, “All Aboard: A Snapshot of Iowa Railroads, Past & Present.” Borleske is a member of the Benton County Historical Society and Historic Preservation Commission. This free slide show can be seen at the Center Point Historical Society Depot Museum, 700 E.
IBSSS Mary Ingalls Society presentation June 14
The Vinton Public Library will host the IBSSS Mary Ingalls Society on June 14th at 2:00 p.m. in the upper reading room. The group will share photos, stories, mementos and will unveil an exciting new addition to their collection. You won't want to miss this!Light refreshments and coffee will be served. The library is located at 510 2nd Ave in Vinton.
Windsor Manor would like to invite you to paint with them!
Windsor Manor would like to invite you to paint along with their residents on June 10th, 2023, beginning at 2:00 PM. The Vinton Guild for Fine Arts will be at Windsor Manor conducting a painting project. Our residents would love to invite the community to join them. The project will cost $10 per person.
